Liberty County Jail Roster
The official starting point for Liberty County inmate records is the LCSO jail inmates page, which links to the current jail population roster. The roster is hosted through InteropWeb, with a Synergistic Software vendor footer, and it is free to use without a public login. The Sheriff's Office describes the inmate information as an automatic report from its in-house database system and warns that the information is supplied without warranties about accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability.
The roster is a county-jail custody and booking tool. It is not a full criminal-history search, a final court-disposition index, or a statewide prison database. It can show current jail custody, recent arrests, arrest-date records, bond fields, charge rows, arresting agencies, and court labels. Formal case outcomes belong with the Clerk and court systems after an arrest, while sentenced state-prison custody moves to the Georgia Department of Corrections. A missing roster result does not prove there was no arrest. The person may have been released, transferred, booked under a different spelling, outside the visible date range, or held in another system.
A captured view from the Liberty County current jail population roster shows the tabbed layout, optional name filter, and inline booking records.
The image supports the local search flow because the public record is displayed as roster rows rather than a separate profile page.
Use Liberty County Roster
The Liberty County roster has three useful paths, and each answers a different custody question. Current Inmates is the default path for a person believed to be in the jail now. 24 Hours Arrests is useful when a booking or release may have happened today or yesterday. Inmates by Arrest Date adds a date range for older or released booking records, though the research did not locate a posted retention rule for how long released entries remain searchable.
- Open the LCSO jail inmates page, then follow the Current Jail Population link, or open the InteropWeb roster directly.
- Start with Current Inmates when the question is current Liberty County Jail custody.
- Enter a last name or first name in the optional name filter. If spelling is uncertain, broaden the search and use pagination.
- Click Search Inmates and review the inline record, including status, arrest date, agency, bond, and charge grid.
- Switch to 24 Hours Arrests for a booking or release from the last day.
- Use Inmates by Arrest Date when the arrest date is known or when the person may have been released.
- Call the jail or use LCSO open records if the online roster does not answer the custody or records question.
Browsing can help when a middle name, suffix, hyphen, or alternate spelling is involved. It is slower than a name filter, especially when the current-inmates tab spans many pages, but it avoids treating one spelling as final. Urgent release, bond, or safety questions should go to the jail phone or booking line instead of waiting for a page refresh.
Liberty County Search Fields
The roster field set is simple but locally important. There is no posted wildcard rule, no required booking number, and no visible facility dropdown for multiple Liberty County facilities. The date controls appear only on the arrest-date tab. On the June 4, 2026 inspection, the current tab displayed Page 1 of 24 with 240 items; that is a dated roster snapshot, not a certified average daily population.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current Inmates | Tab | No | Default current-custody roster path. |
| 24 Hours Arrests | Tab | No | Recent bookings, including current and released statuses. |
| Inmates by Arrest Date | Tab | No | Adds date-range filtering for arrest dates. |
| Last Name | Text | No | Optional name filter. No wildcard rule was posted. |
| First Name | Text | No | Optional name filter used with or without last name. |
| Begin Date | Date picker | No | Arrest-date tab only, with Today, Clear, OK, and Cancel controls. |
| To / End Date | Date picker | No | Arrest-date tab only, paired with Begin Date. |
| Search Inmates | Button | n/a | Runs the selected tab and filter search. |
Liberty County Inmate Record Fields
A Liberty County inmate record displays as an inline roster entry. It is strongest for booking status, arrest agency, bond, and charges. It should not be described as a full profile with housing unit, cell, floor, date of birth, race, weight, eye color, or scheduled release date because those fields were not verified in the inspected public rows. The image area is also limited. The roster has a mugshot or image slot, but inspected rows often showed placeholders or unavailable images rather than reliable booking photos.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Image / mugshot slot | Public image area, often placeholder or unavailable in inspected records. |
| Name | Roster name in LAST, FIRST MIDDLE style. |
| Status | Current or released label, including CURRENTLY BOOKED and RELEASED. |
| Sex / height / address | Labels appeared, but inspected text values were blank. |
| Arrest date | Date tied to the booking or arrest event. |
| Arresting agency | Agency after the arrest date, such as Liberty County SO, Hinesville PD, Fort Stewart, or US Marshal. |
| Days in jail | Numeric count shown from the arrest date or custody listing. |
| Total bond | Dollar amount, NOT SET, or DENIED. Holds may still block release. |
| Charge grid | Warrant number, counts, statute, description, M/F classification, and court. |
Agency labels matter in Liberty County. A person can appear on the jail roster after an arrest by the Sheriff's Office, Hinesville Police Department, Fort Stewart law-enforcement personnel, state patrol, a city police department, or a federal-related authority. That does not turn the jail into a federal facility. It means the Liberty County Jail is the local custody point for the booking record.
Liberty County Access Channels
The roster is only one channel. The full Liberty County inmate records chain includes the jail phone, the front office, the sheriff open-records contact, state and federal locators, VINELink, and the mobile app. Use the channel that matches the custody stage. A current county booking points to the roster and jail. A sentenced state-prison transfer points to GDC. A federal sentence points to BOP. Immigration detention points to ICE ODLS.

- Mobile app: the Liberty County Sheriff, GA app and Google Play listing advertise inmate search, a live jail feed, and report or records-request features.
Note: A roster bond amount is a starting point; denied bond, not-set bond, probation matters, federal holds, or Fort Stewart holds can prevent release.
County, GDC, BOP, and ICE
Liberty County inmate records split by custody owner. The county roster is for pretrial detainees, recent arrestees, local court defendants, short local custody, and some holds shown at Liberty County Jail. The GDC offender query is the better tool after a Liberty County defendant has been sentenced or transferred to state custody. GDC search fields can include name, GDC ID, gender, race, age, physical descriptors, most recent institution, offense, sentence status, and conviction county.
Federal and immigration custody are separate. The BOP inmate locator covers federal inmates in Bureau of Prisons custody from 1982 forward and is not a county jail roster. The ICE Online Detainee Locator System is for immigration detention and typically requires either A-number details or biographical information. No BOP or ICE detention facility was confirmed inside Liberty County, so those tools are fallback systems when a federal or immigration authority controls custody.
- Booking charge
- The charge recorded at jail intake. It may differ from the charge later filed in court.
- Hold
- A custody reason from another agency or court that can delay release even when local bond is posted.
- Detainer
- A request or notice from another agency to keep custody or notify before release.
- Disposition
- The current or final court outcome, such as dismissed, guilty, or nolle prossed.

Liberty County Booking and Bond
Booking must finish before release from Liberty County Jail. The LCSO FAQ states that a person arrested must complete booking procedures before release and that bond is established as part of booking. Jail calls from the booking area are allowed when the inmate is booked in and when bond is set. The public roster may then show name, status, arrest date, arresting agency, days in jail, total bond, and charges, but it does not publish a refresh interval.
Release can involve more than the total bond field. LCSO lists cash bond, bonding-company bond, and property bond as local release methods, and it states that people booked into jail must pay a $20 jail fee before release. Property bonds have detailed local requirements, including Liberty County property ownership, value rules, tax status, owner consent, and sheriff or designee approval. Federal holds, probation violations, city sanctions, or military-related holds may block release even when a local bond amount appears payable.
Liberty County Jail Visits
Liberty County Jail does not offer in-person visitation. The official jail information page states that visitation is through HomeWAV and that the same system supports video visits and several communication methods. Booking-area calls are separate from HomeWAV access because inmates may make calls from booking when booked in and when bond is set.
| Channel | Schedule | Provider or Location | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| In-person visitation | None | Liberty County Jail | LCSO states there is no in-person visitation. |
| Video visitation | Daily, 9:00 a.m.-9:55 p.m. | HomeWAV | Remote video visits. |
| Phone, chat, email, text, video chat | Daily, 9:00 a.m.-9:55 p.m. | HomeWAV | LCSO lists these communication options. |
| Booking-area calls | At booking and when bond is set | Jail booking area | Separate from the public HomeWAV schedule. |
Liberty County Mail and Money
The LCSO jail information page covers video visitation, jail money, property release, mail, bond, and front-office hours for Liberty County Jail.
Those jail information rules are operational details, so confirm custody before depositing funds or relying on a communication account.
Postcards and attorney legal mail may be sent to Liberty County Jail, 180 Paul Sikes Dr., Hinesville, GA 31313. Commissary deposits may be made through the jail lobby kiosk, JailPackStore, or 1-800-822-9388. LCSO says not to mail cash or money orders because the jail will not deposit them. Commissary funds are withdrawn Tuesday morning for orders, so deposits for store call should be complete by Monday evening.
Property release is inmate-initiated. The inmate must fill out a property release form, and the claimant must show proper identification. Money is released by check that can be cashed at Heritage Bank in Hinesville with ID. Jail staff state they will not contact an inmate to ask that money be released to someone else.
